Part of Maja's work involves work permits, which are a prerequisite for the work on the construction site to be carried out safely.

"New work permits have to be issued every single day. Here my most important task is to get the permits ready to be approved – and afterwards to collect them again and close them correctly."

Because the work is carried out in a complex GMP environment with many parallel processes, structure and overview are crucial for both safety and progress. That's why Maja has a very central role in the team. "Among other things, I'm also responsible for updating documents, printing, signage and IT support – tasks that create overview in a busy day," she says.

"If everyone on the team had to spend time on all the administrative work, they wouldn't be able to concentrate on their core tasks and what each of them specialises in," Maja says.

"That's why it creates a sense of calm that I'm here to take care of that part."

Maja comes with a solid administrative background and has previously worked both in the beauty industry and at a driving school. Even though the industries are vastly different, she sees clear similarities:

"Administration is essential everywhere. It's about structure, overview and keeping things running smoothly."

The transition to the construction and industrial sector has given her insight into a whole new professional world. "It's enormous out here on the site, and you're only a small part of it all. I'm constantly learning something new," Maja says, elaborating:

"Among other things, I've gained insight into safety procedures such as lockout/tagout (LOTO). When commissioning has defined which valves are to be closed and opened in connection with test runs in the pipes, I can assist by drawing it into the P&ID diagrams. It's really exciting," she says.

Maja thrives in her current role, but also sees opportunities for development in the longer term, including within QA: "I like to go in depth with things and have control of the details," she points out, "which is why working with quality assurance appeals to me a great deal."

The detail-oriented character trait also shows in Maja when she's not at work: "I love being creative and have always drawn a lot. It's my free space."

For Maja there's also a clear connection between her work and her hobby:

"Drawing requires precision, patience and respect for the process," she concludes. "Just like the work out here."
