Many are unsure what the acronyms HSE, EHS or SHE stand for – and when to write which. Here's the answer.

HSE, EHS or SHE – what's the difference?

In short, all three abbreviations stand for and broadly mean the same thing. The letters cover:

  • H = Health
  • S = Safety
  • E = Environment

The order of the letters can, however, signal what is prioritised. EHS management may, for example, place extra emphasis on the environment, while HSE management typically prioritises health and safety.

Why is HSE important in construction projects?

On a construction site, many trades work side by side, often under time pressure. Good HSE management prevents accidents, ensures a healthy working environment and protects both people and the environment throughout the construction process.

Whichever abbreviation your project uses, MI Support's safety coordinators are ready to take care of safety on site.
